This RM Autotech Privacy Notice is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the information you provide. It explains how we handle your personal information and how you can access and update your preferences.
Personal data you share with us will be processed by RM Autotech according to the principles set out below:

3. HOW YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
By direct interaction when you give us your identity and contact details by calling, e-mailing, filling the Web Form or filling a Trainee Details Sheet.

Title, First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Date of Birth, E-Mail, Telephone and Address.
5. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We comply with our obligations by keeping personal data up to date, stored and destroyed securely by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data. Personal data will also be protected from loss, misuse and unauthorized disclosure. We will ensure that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data. Personal data will be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner.
6. HOW YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS USED
We will only use your personal data when law allow us to.
Purposes/Activities:
- To register you as a new customer.
- To manage our relationship with you.
- To check your attendance at the training course.
- To register you as a candidate into the IMI Registration and Certification Portal (Web Portal 2) and claim your IMI Certificate.
- To make you suggestions and recommendations about goods or services that may be of interest to you.
- To enable you to partake in a prize draw, competition or survey.
- To notify you about changes to our service.
7. WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We rely on the explicit consent of the data subject so that we can process your personal data for the purposes listed in this privacy policy.
Processing is also necessary for the performance of a contract with you and to comply with our legal obligations. We may also collect and use your personal data for the purpose of our legitimate interests as a business, including:
- Responding to your queries.
- To carry out direct marketing and to improve our offering of services and products.
- Compliance with contractual obligations to third parties.
We will only process personal data on the basis of legitimate interests only if we determine that your interests, rights and freedoms are not overridden by our legitimate interests.

8. MARKETING AND CONSENT

Where we do this via email, we will not do so without your prior consent except for when you have previously purchased goods or services from us, in which case, you will receive marketing from us unless you have told us that you do not wish to receive that marketing.
In any case, you are free to remove your consent. You can opt out of receiving marketing email communication notifying us at info@rmautotech.co.uk and we will update your preferences. It may take up to 21 days for the changes to come into effect.
9. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was provided. What this means in practice will vary between different types of data.
In general, unless still required with the purpose(s) for which it was collected and/or processed, we remove your personal data from our records seven years after the date it was collected unless different retention periods apply.
When determining the relevant retention periods, we take into account factors including
- Legal obligation(s) under applicable law to retain data for a certain period of time;
- Statute of limitations under applicable law;
- Potential or actual disputes; and
- Guidelines issued by relevant data protection authorities.
Otherwise, we securely erase your personal data from our systems when it is no longer needed.
In some circumstances we may anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
10. DATA SECURITY
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

We may share your personal data with suppliers and service providers who perform business services for us and act as “processors” of your personal data on our behalf.
